A key part of the MarriedPeople strategy is equipping individual couples, but this can be a challenge. Life can get, well, crazy. The demands on our time, schedules and emotions pull us in many different directions. Regardless of whether you’ve been married for one year or 50 years, there is one constant challenge facing every couple—to connect. We hope to provide just a little nudge here and there so couples can remember just how important it is to have one-on-one time.
Each Date Night is written so that any couple of any age can do it. The dates require very little prep and involve little to no additional cost beyond a standard night out. The date nights are intended to be FUN! That’s right . . . FUN. We believe couples need some fun. It helps them remember what they like about each other, and it also gets them out of the same old rut.
The reality is that one single date night will not work for everyone but we’re sure going to give it a try. Date Nights can be received either through email, on the church website, or at the front desk at KuhNO.
We feel like if the parents are getting nourished the way they need then so will your kids. Take some time for yourself and pour some time into keeping your relationship together healthy.
First Ruston announced that they will serve as one of more than 450 churches around the world that will host Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, simultaneously on Friday, February 9, 2018. Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. This worldwide movement is already set to take place next year in all 50 states and 15 countries around the world…and the numbers continue to grow!
Every guest of Night to Shine enters this complimentary event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining areas, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, karaoke, prom favors for each honored guest, a Respite Room for parents and caretakers, and, of course, a dance floor… all leading up to the moment when each guest is crowned king or queen of the prom.
“Night to Shine is an incredible night. Lights…music…limos…dancing…and best of all, each honored guest being crowned a king or queen of the prom! I love what one pastor shared with me, ‘We love this event because it smells like Jesus,’” said Erik Dellenback, executive director of the Tim Tebow Foundation. “We continue to be amazed by how God has grown this event into a worldwide movement, celebrating people with special needs. Though the statistics are incredible, this is not about the numbers. Above everything else, our goal is to share God’s love with people with special needs while giving Him all the glory.”
As sponsor of Night to Shine, the Tim Tebow Foundation will provide each host church with the official 2018 Night to Shine Planning Manual, the official Night to Shine Prom Kit, complete with decorations and gifts for the guests, and personalized guidance and support from a Tim Tebow Foundation staff member. The foundation also has committed over $3.5 million in financial support to hundreds of churches needing assistance in hosting the event.
When Night to Shine launched in 2015, 44 host churches and 15,000 volunteers worked together to honor more than 7,000 kings and queens of the prom. This past February, 375 host churches and 150,000 volunteers came together to celebrate 75,000 honored guests with special needs. Churches are signing up every day for Night to Shine 2018 and the event is expected to take place in over 500 locations in all 50 states and on 6 continents this coming February
