“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!” Psalm 105:1-2
“We come together to retell, remember, and respond to the gospel and all it has accomplished.” – Charlie Hall
1) Retell – Through the music we sing in the contemporary service, the good news of salvation through Christ alone is proclaimed every Sunday. Visitors and members alike will have no question who or what we are singing about at FBC Ruston.
“But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all His works.” Psalm 73:28
2) Remember – We use this hour of worship to stop and reflect on all that the Lord has been doing in not only our lives, but in the lives of our family, and the life of the church.
“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done.” Psalm 105:4-5a
3) Respond – Music was designed by God to be used for His glory. We use this gift to declare and proclaim our love and adoration for God as a congregation focused on His faithfulness.
“Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day” Psalm 96:1-2
