Pondered with Delight . . .

Pondered with Delight . . .

"Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them." Psalm 111:2 (NIV)

More and more I ponder the works of God and even the inventions and craftwork of mankind. The older I get the more I am aware how little I know . . . not in quantity of detail, but in percentage of the whole. I need to see an entity, even if under a microscope to understand what it is.

Relying on descriptions of chemical bonds or orbiting electrons leaves suspicions in my mind that perhaps the portrayal is just a guess. And to try to visualize a universe "light years away" is only a worded phrase to me. How about electronics that encapsulate the texts of many books on a single computer chip ("semi-conductor?") and is unscrambled and printed via a computer "operating system"? My head is spinning.

However, I willingly ponder with amazement those things within my visual spectrum that God has created and has given life. Tiny components work together, coordinated by a central nervous system or even simpler structures that in turn combine with each other across muscles supported by bones into creatures of great strength.

Nearly weightless mosquitoes fly to my arm and extract blood through two layers of protective skin. Birds rise into thin air from a stationary position on the ground and with a running start airplanes, carrying hundreds of people, are supported by air and motion. Plants use the earth's water, nutrients, and sunshine to grow from a little seed to produce fruit.

"Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how."Mark 4:27 (NIV)

Every atom (and its sub-particles), every molecule, every cell, has the imprint of a perfect design by a perfect designer in a universe of perpetual motion. Wow!

"Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever." Psalm 111:3 (NIV)
