Chinese Mission of First Baptist Church (CMFBC) of Ruston Introduction

In the fall of 1983, a group of passionate Chinese Christians living in the Ruston area decided to meet every Friday night for Bible study and fellowship. With the help of First Baptist Church of Ruston providing a meeting place and other resources, the Ruston Chinese Bible Study Group was founded. Due to the fast growth of the Chinese-speaking international student population in area schools, the number of attendees increased rapidly. One year later, the group was restructured to become the Chinese Mission of First Baptist Church of Ruston. Our mission statement is the following: “We exist to glorify God, help people, and share the Gospel”.

Thanks to God for His grace and guidance, over the years, thousands of young Chinese students in Ruston have had the opportunity to hear the gospel through attending our Bible study, special meetings and a variety of other activities. Many of them accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior and became Christians. Some of them even responded to the Lord’s call to work full-time as preachers and missionaries. Because of this mission, the seed of the gospel has also reached many other places in North America and Asia.

Currently, with the support of FBC Ruston, our weekly Bible study and fellowship meeting is held in the PowerHouse (210 Dan Renau Drive)  on Friday night from 7:00 to 10:00pm. The program includes dinner, music, Bible study and Fellowship. Childcare is available from 7:30 to 9:30pm. Other activities include special events/meetings, outdoor activities, community outreach visits, and volunteer work. We are very grateful that God gives us this privilege and opportunity to share God’s love, tell the Good News, pray and study the Bible together, and be able to serve the Chinese community in Ruston.
